Designed to provide useful information in the continuing battle to defend and protect IAFF members hard-earned and well-deserved pension benefits, the Pension Resources web site features content in various sections including News & Resources, Organizations, Education and a Glossary of pension related terms.

The Pension Resources Department was created in December 2010 based on delegate passage of Resolution #24 at the 50th IAFF Convention in San Diego, California.

The approved resolution facilitated many new pension resources and the General President chose to place the newly created department within the IAFF Technical Assistance and Information Resources Division.

Specifically, the Pension Resources Department aims to provide the following customized assistance to IAFF affiliates;

• Plan funding analysis
• Overall plan evaluation
• Plan comparison
• Exhibits for negotiation, arbitration, or other meetings with public officials
• Exhibits and talking points regarding specifics of plan for local leaders
• List of pension related experts
• Database of pension plan data elements used for comparison
• Rebuttals to public comment or negative media coverage regarding fire fighter pensions
• Customized brochures or other handouts for individual locals or state/provincial associations fighting pension related attacks
