Firefighter/Paramedic Colter Tate was recognized as the March Employee of the Month. Firefighter Tate is the Fire Department’s Training Coordinator and was responsible for the successful implementation of newly revised training modules for the Department.  In addition to the regular training duties, he also set up the EMS training for Department personnel and served as the lead instructor for the Hazardous Materials Operation training during the month of February.

Captain Kyrouac, in his nomination, stated: “It is nice to see someone who has not been here very long stepping up to get things done.  He is truly a leader and not a follower.”

Firefighter Tate joined the City in June, 2008, after beginning his career with the Mount Vernon Fire Department.
